This version is optimized for reflector (non-projector) headlight housings — where the bulb sits behind a parabolic mirror-finish reflector bowl. What is the difference between the Non-Projector, Projector, and High Beam Only versions?
Each version has the CSP LED chip array oriented differently for a specific housing optic. Non-Projector is for reflector bowl housings. Projector is for projector-lens housings and maintains a clean cutoff line. High Beam Only is for dedicated high beam circuits optimized for maximum throw. Always select based on your housing type — using the wrong version produces a suboptimal beam pattern.
Do I need to mount external driver boxes in my engine bay?
No. The driver electronics are integrated directly into the sealed heatsink body. The S3 is entirely self-contained — no external components to mount, no additional wiring to route. Installation is as simple as removing the factory H1 halogen and installing the S3 in its place.
My vehicle is a Jeep / BMW / Mercedes — will these work without modification?
They will work, but Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and later-model European vehicles may require additional CAN Bus decoder harnesses if flashing, strobing, or shutting down with engine ON occurs. A decoder harness is available separately and resolves this completely as a one-time addition.
